Columbus housing market is booming!
That’s right, according to some recent data crunching by Realtor.com, the Columbus, Ohio real estate market is really moving. In fact, we are ranked as number 16 on their “hot” list.
Who said February is dreary?
It wasn’t a frozen wasteland for real estate this year! According to the data crunchers at Realtor.com, spring has sprung in the real estate market and the housing supply is scarcer than ever. In fact, their numbers indicate that houses are moving off the market a whopping 5% more quickly than last year. Additionally, sellers will be happy to see that it took 5 days less to sell a house in February than in January. It looks like it’s going to be a great year for you, sellers!
More good news
As if quick home sales weren’t good news enough, there’s more. In the same study, the median housing price looks to be around $250,000. That’s 9% higher than a year ago! Of course, past successes don’t necessarily indicate a future rate of return, but there is some evidence that median home prices aren’t going down any time soon: housing inventory (homes available to purchase) remains weak. And not just weak, the study reports that the number of houses for sale has actually continually decreased since October of last year.
But…I’m a buyer!
Buyers, this isn’t necessarily bad news for you. Rather, it looks like you are entering the market at a time where you will be getting a solid investment. Also, if the market continues to level out and grow, this could be the perfect time for you to find that dream home.
